Bucks County : New Hope PA Condominium

Satomi’s challenge was to transform this outdated 1980s condominium into a modern and comfortable home. The main floor was congested with an enclosed living room and required a full renovation in order to create an airy and bright living room and open custom kitchen.

Inspired by the client’s cosmopolitan, yet understated lifestyle, the challenge was to realize a contemporary, urban-esque, Northern European home style in the design of this suburban riverside living space.  The goal for this full renovation was to artfully combine custom European furniture using a full range of earth-tone colors. The color palette is primarily warm neutral tones and restricted without using any trendy colors. These colors are then set off by the dark ebony wood floor, deep silver-grey stone flooring, and furniture contrasting off of the white upholstery sofa and earth tone color and organic shape patterned area rug.

Greenwich Village NYC Penthouse

Satisfying an international client with an eclectic aesthetic was the backdrop for this 2,200-square-foot penthouse gut-renovation located between Union and Washington Square Parks in Greenwich Village. A key challenge in this design was achieving unity through the juxtaposition of varying design elements; the original brick walls, iron window frames, and custom industrial metal-clad columns against the clean modern lighting and crisp European kitchen. The TV/media area is purposely lean and uncluttered, maximizing the open-loft nature of the space. By keeping the classic radiators and creating the custom walnut wall element, Satomi balanced the industrial coolness with inviting warmth. Additionally, Satomi brought in a bit of the city’s grit with the “graffiti” tiles in the bathroom. And the deep-grey master bedroom ceiling accentuates the natural light pouring down from the skylight.
