Enrich Life Through Co-Working Styles
Enrich Life Through Co-Working Styles
On October 3, 2024, I had the privilege of participating in a dynamic seminar event celebrating the 8th anniversary of DEJIMASTOCK at Yamane Holdings, Hiroshima. This event featured three distinct sessions—lectures, a panel discussion, and a workshop—focused on enriching our understanding of co-working styles and interior design trends.
Session 1: The Trends in Interior Design
The first session began and captivated an audience of 50 attendees: interior coordinators, architects, construction professionals, environmental designers, artists, students, and those from various fields interested in new working methods. Satomi delved into the latest trends and challenges in interior and architectural design, drawing from her experiences traveling through design hubs such as Milan, New York, Miami, and Japan. She highlighted how contemporary lifestyle shifts influence and enhance interior design by combining international perspectives and cultural insights.
This session sparked vibrant discussions as participants were eager to share their insights and experiences. The exchange illuminated how diverse cultural influences can shape and inspire innovative design solutions.
Session 2: The Future of Co-Working Styles
In the second session, I continued to build on the foundation laid in the first, transitioning into exploring co-working spaces. Drawing from lessons learned in New York, I facilitated an interactive dialogue that melded global perspectives with local characteristics. Together with participants, we examined the potential of innovative co-working styles that respond to the evolving needs of modern professionals.
The session encouraged participants to share their interpretations of co-working dynamics, fostering creativity and collaboration. It was inspiring to see how varied backgrounds contributed to a rich discourse on the future of work environments.
Session 3: Workshop | Envisioning New Co-Working Styles
The final session was a hands-on workshop where attendees actively engaged in discussions surrounding the co-working styles of today and tomorrow. Participants collaborated in small groups, sharing ideas and brainstorming solutions that reflected their personal experiences and aspirations for future work environments.
The atmosphere was electrifying, with creativity flowing as participants devised unique concepts for aesthetically pleasing and functional co-working spaces. This collaborative format encouraged camaraderie and allowed for a diverse range of perspectives to be shared.
Networking and Book Signing ;
Satomi hosted an interactive networking session after the workshops where participants could exchange ideas and build connections.
Additionally, she held a book signing, which provided an intimate opportunity for attendees to discuss their thoughts on my published works and delve deeper into the concepts explored during the sessions.
The DEJIMASTOCK seminar was a remarkable gathering of creative minds united by a common interest in innovative design and modern work styles. Satomi and the host were thankful for the opportunity to engage with such a diverse group and look forward to future interactions in Hiroshima, Japan. For those interested in bilingual experiences, I am open to delivering lectures in both Japanese and English, ensuring inclusivity and enriching the event for all attendees.
She is eager to share more about these transformative concepts and looks forward to future collaborations. Thank you to all who participated!
