Book Release: Interiors For Life; Engaging and Retaining Clients through Participatory Design

Tokyo, Japan

YZDA is proud to announce the release of Interiors for Life, the debut book by founder Satomi Yoshida-Katz, published by Shinchosha in Tokyo, Japan.

Rooted in Satomi’s experience as an interior designer in New York, Interiors for Life explores the art of business communication through the lens of participatory design. The book offers thoughtful, practical insights into how designers and professionals can build lasting client relationships by listening deeply, communicating with intention, and creating space for meaningful collaboration.

Through personal stories and real-world examples, Satomi shares how communication can transcend language and cultural boundaries, helping to foster creativity, trust, and connection in both design and business.

The YZDA team is deeply grateful for the support of the Shinchosha editorial team and the many individuals who encouraged Satomi throughout the writing process. The book reflects her belief that great design is not only about aesthetics, but also about empathy, dialogue, and the relationships that shape the environments we live and work in.

An English-language version is in development, with the goal of making this work accessible to a global audience of professionals, students, entrepreneurs, and anyone seeking to improve how they connect with others through their work.

Interiors for Life is now available in bookstores throughout Japan.

Stay tuned for updates on international availability and future translations.
