The Zen-like spirit of the interiors is a reflection of the home’s bucolic setting. Translucent shades, handwoven in Japan, filter the sunlight while softly preserving the outside views. Chinese art and treasured objects collected by the client during travels to Asia inspired a color palette that is restful and serene.
In the dining room, a Chinese Emperor and Empress preside over an antique Chinese console, dining table and chairs. Following the Feng Shui principle that concerns must be filled, the designer created two sculptural arrangements of bamboo poles in oversized ceramic planters that rest on iron bases.
